Job Description

Overview

UCHealth is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist to provide triage, assessment, and treatment to patients and their families within an inpatient behavioral health unit. This part-time role includes directly implementing counseling and therapy in both individual and group settings while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement counseling and therapy for assigned patients in individual and group settings.
  • Interview and assess patients and/or patients' family and caregivers.
  • Determine and arrange for necessary internal and external services and interventions.
  • Participate in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate patient progress.
  • Assist with discharge planning and identification of community-based resources.
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods to ensure patient and family educational needs are met.
  • Train new staff, students, and interns as assigned.
  • Maintain critical thinking skills and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • State licensure as LCSW, LPC, MFT, or ACD.
  • Advanced CPI certification within 30 days of hire.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience in mental health counseling and behavioral health.
  • Skills in patient assessment, psychiatric care, case management, and discharge planning.
