Position Title: Behavioral and Academic CoachLocation: Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West -Alternative Learning Center / Toledo, OHEmployment Type: Long-Term Assignment / Full-Time or Part-TimePay Rate: $18.00/HourAbout the RoleDedicated School Staffing is seeking dedicated and skilled Behavioral and Academic Coaches to provide primary support to the classroom teacher in reinforcing and monitoring the daily educational program and behavior plans for students with serious emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, and other varied disabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the classroom teacher in reinforcing the educational program and behavior plan for students in accordance with their IEPAssist the classroom teacher in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of individual studentsMaintain clear and consistent communication with the classroom teacher to ensure effective implementation of the student's educational program and behavior planAssist the classroom teacher in the implementation of the PBIS system; coach students in behavior management skillsAssist the teacher with documentation requirements, including collecting data to monitor student progressAssist with crisis intervention situations in the ALC programAssist teacher and students with tasks related to daily activities (e.g., lunch and/or recess duty, helping load and unload busesSupervise students during short-term absences of the teacher from the classroom or in non-classroom settings (e.g., restrooms, cafeterias, corridors)Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with maintenance of the classroom as directed by the teacherHelp maintain accurate and complete student records; help prepare and submit required reports on time.Required QualificationsMust be 18 years of age or olderHigh school diploma or equivalentValid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations)Clean criminal background checksAbility to follow teacher direction, adapt to student needs, and remain patient and calmFlexibility, empathy, and a commitment to student growthStrong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsPhysical ability to support students who may require lifting, mobility assistance, or crisis interventionAdherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio EducatorsPreferred QualificationsAssociates degree or higher educational experienceExperience working with children, especially those with disabilitiesFamiliarity with intervention strategies, behavior supports, or small-group instructionCertification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI)Experience with Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS)What We OfferConsistent schedule for the duration of the assignmentOpportunities to build long-term experience in educationPotential pathways to other school-based rolesOptions for minor medical benefitsEnrollment in School Employees Retirement System (SERS)
