Overview

As a Long-Term Substitute Behavior Coach at River Rock Academy, you will provide essential support to students by modeling positive behaviors and fostering a structured environment. This role is crucial for maintaining continuity and stability for students during staff transitions, helping them grow academically and personally.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct mentorship and guidance to students to promote positive behavior and decision-making
  • Maintain accountability and close supervision of students throughout the school day
  • Support classroom management and assist teachers in creating a safe learning environment
  • Monitor, document, and report student behavior and interventions
  • Respond to behavioral or crisis situations using Safe Crisis Management practices

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Genuine passion for helping children and adolescents with behavioral or learning needs
  • Calm, caring, and patient approach
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and progress tracking
