Job Description

Overview

As a Long-Term Substitute Behavior Coach at River Rock Academy, you will provide essential support to students facing behavioral and academic challenges. Your role will involve modeling positive behaviors, fostering a structured environment, and encouraging skills such as decision-making and self-regulation to aid in students' academic and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct mentorship and guidance to students to promote positive behavior
  • Maintain accountability and supervision of students throughout the school day
  • Support classroom management and assist teachers to create a safe learning environment
  • Monitor, document, and report student behavior and interventions
  • Respond to behavioral or crisis situations using Safe Crisis Management practices

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Passion for helping children and adolescents with behavioral or learning needs
  • Calm, caring, and patient approach
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and progress tracking
