Job Description

Overview

The Battery & Light Service Driver for AAA Upper Marlboro's Roadside Assistance Team is responsible for providing mobile battery services and other roadside assistance to members. This role involves working outdoors, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring the safe operation of vehicles and equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide mobile battery services using established guidelines
  • Perform diagnostic tests and recommend battery solutions
  • Communicate effectively with members to ensure safety and service
  • Enter call information accurately using in-truck technology
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure safety
  • Provide additional services such as lock-out, fuel delivery, and tire changes
  • Complete required departmental training within 60 days of hire

Required skills

  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • 3 years of experience in an automotive/mechanical environment or customer service
  • Ability to pass physical examinations as required
  • Knowledge of battery sales and installation techniques
  • Effective communication skills in writing and verbally
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic technology such as email and GPS
  • Physical ability to lift 75 pounds and perform tasks such as bending and kneeling
