Overview

Tayani Institute is looking for an experienced Back Office Medical Tech with ophthalmology experience to join their thriving practice in Oceanside, California. This full-time position involves a variety of responsibilities, including patient care, supporting physicians, and managing equipment while maintaining a high-paced and organized work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide necessary equipment and supplies for daily clinic operations
  • Keep exam rooms organized before and after sessions
  • Assist in managing eye drop samples and contacting reps under supervision
  • Answer patient questions in person and over the phone
  • Conduct necessary testing such as Visual Fields, OCT, Fundus Photos, Pachymetry, and Topography
  • Calibrate equipment as directed by the manufacturer
  • Administer ILUX treatments for dry eye
  • Document and manage patient information using NextGen
  • Train new hires and students
  • Assist with scheduling outside testing for patients
  • Participate in additional administrative tasks as needed

Required skills

  • Minimum of 1 year back office experience in Ophthalmology
  • Experience working with a retina specialist
  • COA, COT or COMT preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • NextGen experience is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Management or leadership experience a plus
