Overview

Tayani Institute is looking for a skilled Back Office Medical Tech with ophthalmology experience to join their dynamic practice in Oceanside, California. This full-time position involves providing support to physicians and managing various testing procedures in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide necessary equipment and supplies for efficient clinic operations
  • Keep exam rooms organized before and after clinic sessions
  • Maintain eye drop samples and contact representatives under supervision
  • Answer patient questions in person and over the phone
  • Conduct necessary tests such as Visual Fields, OCT, and Fundus Photos
  • Calibrate equipment as directed by the manufacturer
  • Document patient information in NextGen
  • Manage inventory and order back office supplies
  • Train new hires and students
  • Schedule outside testing and assist physicians as needed

Required skills

  • Minimum 1 year back office experience in ophthalmology
  • Experience working with a retina specialist
  • COA, COT, or COMT certification preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • NextGen experience is a plus
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
