Full-Time Posting date 19-May-2026 Area(s) of interest: Advisory services, Commercial banking Location(s): Saskatoon As an AVP & Market Lead, Saskatchewan, you will lead and own the evolution of expanding National Bank's footprint in heart of the prairies including the growth and development of our Commercial Banking teams in Saskatoon and Regina. You will coach and inspire a team of Commercial Account Managers and their leaders, Commercial Underwriters, and ensure strong performance across sales, credit, operational risk, monitoring, and control. Your ability to combine business development expertise with rigorous risk management, operational oversight, and collaborative leadership will set you apart. Your Role: Demonstrate market presence and deliver value through executed leadership where you represent the best interest of the prairies and contribute to the overall strategic direction and vision for the province. Elevate and oversee a team of Account Managers, underwriters, and leaders, creating an engaging work environment that fosters the achievement of objectives. Build, measure, and encourage your employees' growth and skills development through personalized coaching and upskilling activities. Optimize sector efficiency, productivity, and profitability by implementing business growth strategies and sharing approach, successes, and learnings with peers across the west. Establish a strategy with your partners to maximize your market impact and improve your sector's visibility. Drive and uphold a collaborative approach to working with other lines of business within the bank, striving for success and sustainment through best in class client centric solutions. Participate in drafting the annual business plan for your market and manage its execution. Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients through various acquisition and retention activities. Act as an ambassador of the Bank within the local community and foster relationships with key partners. Ensure that compliance rules and operating procedures are adhered to and applied. Keep abreast of new market developments and ensure that the products and services offered meet clients' changing needs and remain competitive. Be proactive in identifying new ways of working and encourage continuous improvement and the use of new tools. Your Team: Within the Commercial and Private Banking 1859 sector, you are part of a team of professionals supporting commercial clients. In addition, you are surrounded by an entire ecosystem of experts to help you offer the best possible solutions to customers. Reporting to the Vice-President & Head, Prairies, the position is based in Saskatoon, SK. This role requires flexibility and travel between Saskatoon and Regina, ensuring the success of all commercial banking teams. Our learning-by-doing training programs enable you to master your job. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in a related field and 8 years of relevant experience Significant experience with commercial clients, including complex financing structures and risk analysis Strong experience in personnel management and sales coaching Ability to develop and execute a strategic plan focused on business development and market coverage Experience in negotiation, comfort in challenging the status quo, and comfortable engineering solutions Ability to maximize the use of sales management tools (dashboards, performance tracking, etc.) Knowledge of the Private Wealth Management sector is an asset Strong ability to influence, lead, and manage priorities effectively Autonomy, organizational skills, and change management capabilities Languages: English Skills Press
