Job Description

Overview

The Avionics/Electrical Technician 3 at Gulfstream Aerospace in Westfield will provide technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics and electronic systems to ensure defect-free aircraft. The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to teach and oversee the installation of components as well as maintain compliance with safety standards and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform operational and functional tests of avionics and electronic systems
  • Teach installations and functional testing of avionics components according to engineering specifications
  • Troubleshoot and provide quality repairs of malfunctioning systems
  • Document all work performed on aircraft completely and properly
  • Oversee compliance with engineering changes and modifications
  • Ensure personnel adherence to company safety programs and regulations
  • Coordinate with other disciplines on various projects
  • Conduct flight tests as required for aircraft certification

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience in avionics/electrical field
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred
  • Proficiency in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Proficiency in splicing, soldering, and pinning wiring
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot various aircraft systems
