Overview

The Avionics Electrical Technician 4 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for advanced testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics and electrical systems to ensure defect-free aircraft. This role emphasizes leadership and mentoring within a team to foster a skilled workforce and maintain safety and quality standards in a high-stakes aviation environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform advanced operational and functional testing of avionics and electrical systems
  • Lead and mentor team members in troubleshooting and repair processes
  • Install and test avionics components per engineering specifications
  • Diagnose system discrepancies and execute high-quality repairs
  • Ensure compliance with engineering changes and maintenance documentation
  • Set up and operate test equipment for performance evaluations
  • Conduct pre-inspections of work before quality checks
  • Enforce safety regulations and company programs

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six years of avionics/electrical experience or two years of accredited aviation electronics schooling with four years of
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in aircraft avionics systems
  • Ability to lead and mentor in a team environment
  • A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred
  • Proficiency in wiring techniques such as splicing, soldering, and pinning
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
