Job Description

Overview

Eclipse Aerospace is seeking an Avionics & Electrical Engineer to lead architecture, integration, and certification strategies for aircraft avionics systems. This role involves hands-on system integration and strong leadership in compliance to ensure robust and certifiable avionics systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) across avionics suppliers and internal systems
  • Lead system-level integration of avionics LRUs, including bench, ground, and flight test activities
  • Conduct technical research and prepare technical documentation and presentations
  • Lead avionics network architecture, including ARINC-429, ARINC-664 (AFDX), CAN, Ethernet, and discrete interfaces
  • Provide technical direction for electrical system certification projects
  • Manage subcontract development of electrical systems and components

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (BSEE preferred) with 6-10 years relevant experience or 15+ years direct
  • Working Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23 Certification
  • Working Knowledge of RTCA DO-160 Qualification
  • Project and team leadership
  • Subcontract technical management
  • Electrical and systems design and certification
  • Power generation and distribution design and certification
  • Avionics and electrical systems test and integration
  • HIRF/Lightning/EMI design, testing, and certification
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities
