Overview

The Avionics Elec Tech III at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Saint Louis, Missouri, plays a critical role in providing technical expertise for the operational testing and repair of avionics and aircraft electronic systems, ensuring the aircraft meet high safety and quality standards. This position requires significant experience in avionics and electrical systems as well as the ability to troubleshoot and teach others in the field.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform various operational and functional tests on aircraft avionics systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair avionics and electrical systems to ensure defect-free performance
  • Teach installation and functionality testing of electrical components according to specifications
  • Oversee compliance with engineering changes and modifications
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed on the aircraft
  • Conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate system performance
  • Enforce company safety regulations and programs

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience in an avionics or electrical career field
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting avionics systems
  • Understanding of electrical systems repair techniques, including soldering and splicing
  • A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Effective communication skills in English
