Overview

The Avionics / Aircraft Electrical Systems Technician 3 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise in the testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of avionics and aircraft electrical systems. This role emphasizes the importance of safety, quality, and continuous improvement while ensuring defect-free aircraft delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical expertise in testing and troubleshooting avionics and aircraft electrical systems
  • Perform operational and functional testing to ensure defect-free aircraft delivery
  • Install and functionally test avionics/electrical components per engineering specifications
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and mentor team members
  • Repair or replace defective wiring and components using approved methods
  • Set up and operate test equipment to verify system performance
  • Ensure conformity standards are met and maintain thorough documentation
  • Support engineering changes while maintaining safety and quality standards
  • Coordinate across disciplines to meet production schedules
  • Support final phase testing and certification, including potential aircraft flight tests

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5 years of experience in an avionics/electrical field
  • Strong experience troubleshooting avionics and aircraft electrical systems
  • Business jet avionics troubleshooting experience preferred
  • A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Strong working knowledge of avionics systems and other aircraft systems
  • Proven ability to mentor others and lead technical problem-solving efforts
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
