Overview

The Aviation Maintenance Technician at Air Methods is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations on company-operated aircraft, specifically Bell 407s. The role requires compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies, while ensuring operational goals are met. This position necessitates on-call availability and may involve travel to support Part 135 operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and repairs of aircraft in accordance with maintenance procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Verify component installation or removal by inspection of part numbers and serial numbers
  • Ensure proper execution of maintenance documentation as per applicable regulations and manuals
  • Participate in the Safety Management System and maintain a clean work area
  • Correct compliance or safety issues as directed by management
  • Advise the Pilot in Command of any maintenance issues affecting aircraft service
  • Request aviation parts and maintain an inventory for prompt repairs

Required skills

  • 2 to 5 years of related experience or equivalent training
  • Active FAA A&P License in good standing
  • Electrical troubleshooting and vibration balancing skills
  • Experience with sheet metal and composite repair procedures
  • Ability to read and understand regulatory documents like Service Bulletins and ADs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and experience with ERP systems (Ramco preferred)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
