Overview

Jiffy Lube is seeking an Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic for their Elkhart, Indiana location. This hands-on role involves performing preventive maintenance and light mechanical services in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while ensuring high-quality customer service and vehicle safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform oil and filter changes, including various types of oils
  • Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and communicate findings to customers
  • Perform fluid services such as coolant and transmission exchanges
  • Replace air filters, cabin air filters, windshield wiper blades, and batteries
  • Conduct tire rotations, balancing, installations, and flat repairs
  • Assist with brake services including pads and rotors
  • Diagnose basic mechanical issues and identify service needs
  • Build service recommendations and quotes based on vehicle condition
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Provide professional customer service through clear communication

Required skills

  • Previous automotive or mechanical experience
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and automotive systems
  • Ability to perform multiple services in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • ASE certification(s) a plus, preferred ASE A5
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends
