Overview

The Automation Technician Nights at Agropur is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation and computer-controlled systems within the manufacturing plant. The role emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and creating value, fostering an environment where employees can make a significant impact while supporting each other.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor automated systems using a computer
  • Troubleshoot automation systems with various PLC programs
  • Perform checks and calibration of plant floor equipment
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance work
  • Complete documentation for scheduled maintenance
  • Perform work orders assigned by planners
  • Conduct daily preventive maintenance of electrical circuits
  • Install new electrical circuits
  • Help production personnel troubleshoot problems
  • Maintain and oversee control systems
  • Install and test automation systems
  • Calibrate instruments throughout the plant
  • Understand and comply with quality assurance policies
  • Provide technical assistance for automation issues
  • Adhere to safety policies and protocols

Required skills

  • Associate's or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology or related field
  • Minimum one year of related experience
  • Experience with reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of wiring control panels and equipment
  • Experience with planning, testing, and maintaining systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
  • Intermediate math skills
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office and field-specific software
