Job Description

Overview

The Automation Engineer III at Resilience is responsible for managing technical projects related to manufacturing intelligence and automation systems in a biomanufacturing environment. This role includes interfacing with various automation equipment and providing expertise in system optimization and compliance within a regulated setting. The position is based at the Blue Ash facility in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Key responsibilities

  • Interface with PLCs, SCADAs, HMIs, and other automation equipment
  • Participate in the design, optimization, and validation of equipment
  • Consult with system owners on process development as an automation expert
  • Review and approve technical documentation and coding procedures
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members
  • Communicate project priorities and progress to the team
  • Identify and implement fixes for equipment issues
  • Lead investigations and studies with minimal supervision
  • Interact with regulatory agencies during audits and inspections
  • Perform quality audits to ensure equipment functionality
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support

Required skills

  • Experience with automation systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA): Rockwell, Inductive, Siemens
  • Significant experience in a regulated or cGMP manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of GAMP 5 and ISA standards
  • Knowledge of GMP principles including change control and validation
  • Familiarity with Data Historian and Visualization systems such as Aveva PI
  • Microsoft SQL database design
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and technical documentation
