Job Description

Overview

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will be integral in maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance within fulfillment centers. This role involves providing proactive controls automation, technical support, and troubleshooting complex control systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize material handling equipment systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining automation systems
  • Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance and operations to address performance issues
  • Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance MHE performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
  • Experience in PLC based controls design, development, implementation, and support
  • Knowledge of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs
  • Experience dealing with material handling, flow, and capacity
  • Experience with industrial control systems, both hardware and software
