Job Description

Overview

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will be integral to enhancing equipment reliability and operational performance within fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex automation systems and work alongside cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives while managing state-of-the-art material handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining critical automation systems.
  • Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems.
  • Monitor MHE metrics and address system performance issues.
  • Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians.
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance performance.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC
  • Experience with PLC programming and control systems.
  • Knowledge of robotics, industrial networks, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience with Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs.
  • HMI and control network components maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Preventive maintenance procedures for industrial controls and robotics.
  • Interpreting and modifying mechanical and electrical drawings.
