Job Description

Overview

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon's fulfillment center in Fort Worth, Texas, you will be instrumental in maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance through controls automation and technical support. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting complex control systems, analyzing performance metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize material handling equipment systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining critical automation systems
  • Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems including PLC/PC controllers
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address system performance issues
  • Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
  • Experience with robotics work cells and control systems
  • Expertise in electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment
  • Ladder Logic and structured programming experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs
  • Experience with HMI and control network components
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and design experience in industrial controls
  • Proficiency in interpreting and modifying mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Programming experience with RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, and FT View
