Job Description

Overview

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will be a key player in enhancing equipment reliability and operational efficiency within our fulfillment centers. Your role will involve troubleshooting control systems, providing technical support, and driving continuous improvement to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining automation systems critical for operations
  • Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address system performance issues
  • Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, both locally and remotely
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC
  • Experience in PLC based controls design, development, implementation, and support
  • Experience with Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs
  • Experience with industrial control systems, both hardware and software
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
