Job Description

Overview

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will be integral to enhancing equipment reliability and operational performance within fulfillment centers. Your role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting control systems, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with various teams to optimize material handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining critical automation systems
  • Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks
  • Monitor material handling equipment metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues
  • Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, both locally and remotely
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC
  • Experience in PLC based controls design, development, implementation, and support
  • Experience with Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs
  • Experience in dealing with material handling, flow and capacity
  • Experience with industrial control systems, both hardware and software
