Job Description

Overview

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon in Fort Worth, Texas, you will be instrumental in enhancing equipment reliability and operational performance within fulfillment centers. Your role will focus on providing proactive controls automation and technical support, analyzing performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives crucial for maintaining the company's operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining critical automation systems
  • Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems
  • Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with maintenance/operators to address performance issues
  • Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments for enhancing material handling system performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
  • Experience with robotics work cells and control systems
  • Electrical theory and automated equipment experience
  • Experience with Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs
  • Experience with HMI and control network components
  • Skills in preventive maintenance procedures and industrial controls
  • Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Programming experience with RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, FT View, and other controls software platforms
