Overview

As an Auto Technician Trainee at Safelite, you will focus on vehicle glass repairs while being trained by experienced technicians. This role offers the chance to develop skills in auto glass repair and customer service, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn to repair vehicle glass with guidance from experienced technicians.
  • Repair chips, cracks, and other auto glass issues on customer vehicles.
  • Manage work orders, customer documentation, and communication through Mobile Resource Management technology.
  • Promote and sell Safelite promotional items to customers.
  • Clean customer vehicles during wait times and perform housekeeping tasks.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles and tools.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • On-the-job training and completion of Safelite SafeTech certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools.
  • Problem-solving skills and customer service mindset.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and various weather conditions.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
