Overview

The Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite will undergo comprehensive training to become a skilled auto glass technician. This program includes hands-on experience and classroom education, culminating in certification and the essential skills necessary for glass repair, replacement, and recalibration. The role emphasizes a positive customer service approach and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in hands-on and classroom training
  • Assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and conduct diagnostic testing
  • Study and pass testing to achieve Safelite certification
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed
  • Comply with all company policies and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle following all laws
