Overview

The Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee role at Safelite involves hands-on and classroom training to become a proficient auto glass technician. Trainees will learn skills necessary for glass repair, installation, and recalibration while developing a service-oriented mindset aimed at providing customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice through hands-on and classroom training
  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles as well as tools and chemicals
  • Comply with all policies and standards

Required skills

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely
  • Driver's license to operate a company vehicle
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
