Job Description

Overview

As an Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite, you will be trained to become a proficient auto glass technician, receiving hands-on training and education to perform glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations. You will embody the company's values while striving to provide excellent customer service and complete jobs with high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Complete diagnostic testing related to glass installations
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company vehicles and use company-issued tools and chemicals
  • Comply with all policies and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English and technical directions
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Willingness to maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code
