Overview

The Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite will be trained to become a proficient auto glass technician through hands-on and classroom training. Upon completing the program, trainees will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification, allowing them to perform glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently while prioritizing customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through training
  • Observe and assist in the installation and repair of auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
  • Provide additional services and products to customers
  • Complete training and pass certification testing
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles, tools, and chemicals
  • Follow all company policies and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient in computerized diagnostic tools
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Flexibility in work schedule
