Overview

The Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite is a training position designed to prepare individuals to become proficient auto glass technicians. Trainees will learn through hands-on experience and classroom education, ultimately earning the Safelite SafeTech certification. This role emphasizes customer service and quality workmanship, aiming to bring happiness to customers by delivering timely and high-quality repairs.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice in the installation and repair of auto glass.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and conduct diagnostic testing.
  • Provide additional services and products as needed.
  • Complete testing to achieve Safelite-certified Technician status.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles and use company-issued tools and chemicals.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.

Required skills

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and tight spaces.
  • Experience with computerized diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical directions.
