Overview

The Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee position at Safelite offers an opportunity to learn and grow in the auto glass repair and installation industry. Trainees will receive hands-on and classroom training, ultimately leading to Safelite SafeTech certification and preparation for a career as an auto glass technician, focusing on quality service and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands-on and classroom training
  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing
  • Provide additional services and products
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles, along with tools and chemicals
  • Comply with all policies and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
  • Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools safely
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with laws
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
