Overview

The Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee position at Safelite is designed for individuals who are eager to learn the trade of auto glass repair and installation. The trainee will undergo hands-on and classroom training to gain proficiency and achieve Safelite SafeTech certification, emphasizing quality service and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles and tools
  • Provide additional services and products
  • Comply with all company policies and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely
  • Basic problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Flexibility in scheduled work hours to meet customer needs
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
