Overview

As an Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite, you will be trained to become a proficient auto glass technician through hands-on and classroom instruction. The role emphasizes embodying the company's values and providing high-quality service to customers while gaining the necessary skills for glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands-on and classroom training
  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and complete diagnostic testing
  • Provide additional services and products as needed
  • Study and pass tests to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles, tools, and chemicals
  • Comply with all company policies and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Experience using hand and power tools safely
  • Proficient in using computerized diagnostic tools
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities and ability to troubleshoot independently
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and flexible hours
