Overview

As an Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite, you will undergo training to become a skilled auto glass technician. The role emphasizes hands-on learning combined with classroom training, preparing you to complete glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations of automotive safety systems. The company prioritizes high-quality service and a positive customer experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice through hands-on and classroom training
  • Assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles and equipment
  • Comply with all company policies and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret technical directions
