Overview

The Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite will undergo training to become a proficient auto glass technician. This role involves hands-on and classroom learning, eventually leading to the Safelite SafeTech certification, enabling the trainee to perform glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations independently.

Key responsibilities

  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and complete diagnostic testing
  • Provide additional services and products
  • Study and pass tests to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles and tools
  • Complete duties as assigned and comply with company policies

Required skills

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
  • Customer service skills
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
