Job Description

Overview

The Boyd Group is seeking an Auto Body Refinisher to join their team at the Alexandra St location in Ottawa. This role involves refinishing vehicles to ensure quality repairs and working collaboratively with team members to meet performance targets. Candidates may be eligible for a relocation bonus if moving from a different city or province.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Inspect body and prep repairs for deficiencies impacting refinish quality
  • Correct paint deficiencies through wet sanding and polishing
  • Prepare surface for paint using hand and power tools
  • Review damage reports of repairs to be completed
  • Perform surface preparation, vehicle masking, priming, and top coating
  • Accurately mix paint for quality colour match
  • Apply new knowledge and skills to improve quality and productivity
  • Take responsibility for outcomes and seek learning opportunities

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of Auto Body Paint Refinishing experience in a collision repair facility
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Red Seal Certification (preferred)
  • I-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class certification) (preferred)
  • PPG Certification (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
