Job Description

Overview

As an Auto Adjuster at USAA, you will be responsible for managing the entire claims process for moderately complex auto insurance claims. This role includes investigating liability, communicating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations. The position requires a commitment to providing exceptional customer service to members and partners in a flexible work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigates liability and evaluates, negotiates, and settles moderately complex auto claims.
  • Negotiates liability for comparative negligence and identifies coverage concerns.
  • Gathers information from multiple sources to determine liability.
  • Documents decision-making processes related to damage evaluation and settlement.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Supports workload surges and CAT response operations as needed.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Progressive experience handling low complexity auto non-injury claims
  • Knowledge of auto claims contracts and state laws
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in multi-tasking and navigating multiple business applications
  • Experience with Guidewire or similar claims management systems
  • Analytical skills to interpret policy language and assess coverages
