Job Description

Overview

As an Auto Adjuster at USAA, you will handle the complete end-to-end claims process for auto insurance, including investigating liability, evaluating claims, and making settlement decisions. This role requires proactive communication and collaboration to deliver exceptional service to members, business partners, and claimants.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigate liability and apply appropriate coverage for auto claims
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and settle moderately complex auto insurance claims
  • Document thought processes related to damage evaluation and investigation
  • Communicate effectively with multiple parties to gather information
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations as needed
  • Collaborate with external and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolution

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Progressive experience handling low complexity auto non-injury liability claims
  • Negotiation, investigation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in prioritizing and multi-tasking
  • Knowledge of case law and state laws related to auto claims
  • Experience with Guidewire or similar claims management systems
  • Ability to analyze policy language and assess coverage
