The ideal candidate will have experience in workers' compensation law, a strong understanding of California regulations, and a proven track record of representing employers and insurance companies in defense against workers' compensation claims. Responsibilities Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, hearings, and appeals. Analyze cases to develop legal strategies and defenses. Conduct thorough investigations of claims, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements. Advocate for clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings. Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and claims representatives. Stay current on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations in California. Provide legal advice to clients regarding compliance and risk management. Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed about case developments. Collaborate with colleagues and experts to strengthen case strategies. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in the state of California. Minimum of 3 years of experience in workers' compensation defense or related fields. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Proficient in legal research and familiar with case management software. Preferred Qualifications: Experience representing self-insured employers or insurance carriers. Familiarity with labor laws and regulations affecting workers' compensation.
