Job Description

Overview

FSA Federal is seeking an Attorney to support the US Attorney's Office by conducting asset investigations aimed at recovering debts. The role is mission-driven and focused on legal support related to financial litigation and asset recovery processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist AUSAs by planning and conducting asset investigations
  • Conduct investigations for restitution related to debts owed to the United States and private victims
  • Perform ancillary services in support of financial litigation
  • Utilize electronic databases to identify recoverable assets
  • Prepare periodic reports on investigation progress for USAO management
  • Contact and coordinate with government officials and private citizens
  • Prepare reports of findings for attorney review and enforcement actions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Minimum high school diploma; preferred Bachelor degree in law enforcement or related field
  • Minimum two years of experience in a legal environment, investigative experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of legal research tools
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work as a team player
  • Skill in communication and dealing with people courteously
  • Familiarity with legal and non-legal documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • U.S. citizenship and background investigation requirement
