Overview

The Athletic Trainer-Outreach WMCG at Wellstar Health Systems, Inc. is a critical role focused on delivering healthcare services in a secondary school setting. The position emphasizes injury prevention, wellness promotion, and therapeutic interventions for high school athletes while working closely within a multidisciplinary team to enhance the health and well-being of the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training services according to state practice acts
  • Conduct injury and illness prevention and wellness promotion
  • Perform examination, assessment, and diagnosis of conditions
  • Deliver immediate and emergency care when necessary
  • Execute therapeutic interventions for athletic and non-athletic conditions
  • Educate stakeholders about injury prevention and treatment
  • Coordinate clinic appointments and follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records
  • Comply with local, state, and national regulations and professional standards
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Outreach manager

Required skills

  • Bachelors in Exercise Science or Athletic Training, or Masters in Athletic Training
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (CAT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Interpersonal skills
