Job Description

Overview

The Athletic Trainer position at UNC Health focuses on injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation in a physician extender role. Candidates will work in a collaborative environment with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients and support the overall mission of the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Casting patients and providing splints, braces, and other durable medical equipment
  • Answering patient clinical phone calls and completing disability paperwork
  • Educating patients on home exercise programs and therapeutic exercises
  • Rooming patients and obtaining necessary information for patient history
  • Ordering appropriate medical tests and performing thorough medical histories

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification
  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in North Carolina or license eligible
  • BLS for healthcare providers certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
