Overview

The Athletic Trainer for Lee County School District will work within the Lee Health Athletic Training Program, supporting local student-athletes and schools throughout Southwest Florida. This role emphasizes athlete safety, health, and performance, working closely with a range of medical professionals and school personnel.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school Activities/Athletic Directors to develop injury prevention and treatment programs
  • Establish schedules for first responders to ensure athletic event coverage
  • Coordinate sports physicals for student-athletes
  • Maintain communication with coaches, administrators, physicians, parents, and students regarding injuries and rehabilitation
  • Conduct athlete education and conditioning programs
  • Report injuries and manage insurance documentation
  • Enforce school board policies regarding substance use
  • Participate in athletic testing and performance initiatives

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletics or a related field
  • Valid Florida Athletic Trainers License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with industry-standard computer applications
  • Effective analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and with diverse groups
