Job Description

Overview

The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Lee County School District and Lee Health to provide support for high school athletes throughout Southwest Florida. This role emphasizes athlete safety, wellness, and performance, coordinating with various stakeholders, including coaches and medical professionals, to deliver effective injury prevention and treatment programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school Activities/Athletic Directors to develop injury prevention and treatment programs
  • Establish schedules for first responders to ensure athletic event coverage
  • Coordinate sports physicals for student-athletes
  • Maintain regular communication with coaches, administrators, physicians, parents, and students regarding injuries and rehabilitation
  • Conduct timely injury reporting and insurance documentation
  • Educate athletes on conditioning programs
  • Ensure compliance with School Board and FHSAA policies

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletics or a related field
  • Experience with industry-standard computer applications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid Florida Athletic Trainers License
  • Effective analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours and with diverse groups
