Job Description

Overview

Lee Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Athletic Trainer to support student-athletes in Lee County schools. This role involves collaborating with school staff and healthcare teams to deliver injury prevention, treatment programs, and ensure athlete safety and performance across various sports.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school Activities/Athletic Directors to develop injury prevention and treatment programs
  • Establish schedules for first responders to ensure athletic event coverage
  • Coordinate sports physicals for student-athletes
  • Maintain communication with coaches, administrators, physicians, parents, and students regarding injuries and rehabilitation
  • Conduct timely injury reporting and insurance documentation
  • Conduct athlete education and conditioning programs
  • Enforce School Board and FHSAA policies related to tobacco, alcohol, and drugs
  • Participate in athletic testing and performance initiatives

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletics or a related field
  • Valid Florida Athletic Trainers License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with industry-standard computer applications
  • Effective analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and with diverse groups
