Overview

The Athletic Trainer position at Lee Health within the Lee County Schools focuses on providing exceptional care to student-athletes across various sports. This full-time role supports injury prevention, treatment, and overall athlete wellness through collaboration with school directors, coaches, and medical teams, all while ensuring a safe environment for participation in athletics.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school Activities/Athletic Directors to develop injury prevention and treatment programs
  • Establish schedules for first responders to ensure athletic event coverage
  • Coordinate sports physicals for student-athletes
  • Maintain regular communication with coaches, administrators, physicians, parents, and students regarding injuries, rehabilitation, conditioning, and return-to-play participation
  • Conduct timely injury reporting and insurance documentation
  • Participate in athletic testing and performance initiatives in partnership with Lee Health Rehabilitation Services

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletics or a related field
  • Valid Florida Athletic Trainers License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with industry-standard computer applications
  • Effective analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and with diverse groups
