Overview

Lee Health is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer for the Lee County School District in Jacksonville, Florida. This full-time role emphasizes collaboration and exceptional patient care in a supportive environment, where the trainer will work closely with student-athletes and a team of health professionals to ensure safety and wellness in school sports.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school Athletic Directors to develop injury prevention and treatment programs
  • Establish schedules for first responders to ensure athletic event coverage
  • Coordinate sports physicals for student-athletes
  • Maintain communication with coaches, administrators, physicians, and students regarding injuries and rehabilitation
  • Conduct athlete education and conditioning programs
  • Ensure equitable coverage across sports and enforce relevant policies
  • Participate in athletic testing and performance initiatives

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletics or a related field
  • Valid Florida Athletic Trainers License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with industry-standard computer applications
  • Effective analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
