Overview

The Athletic Trainer at Lee Health will work within the Lee County School District to support student-athletes across various sports. This position emphasizes athlete safety, wellness, and performance through collaboration with school personnel and the Sports Medicine team. The role is essential in implementing injury prevention and treatment programs while ensuring communication among all stakeholders involved in student athletic care.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor injury prevention and treatment programs for school athletics
  • Establish schedules for first responders to ensure athletic event coverage
  • Coordinate sports physicals for student-athletes
  • Maintain communication with coaches, administrators, parents, and students regarding injuries and rehabilitation
  • Conduct timely injury reporting and manage insurance documentation
  • Participate in athlete education and conditioning programs
  • Ensure compliance with School Board and FHSAA policies
  • Engage in athletic testing and performance initiatives

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletics or related field
  • Valid Florida Athletic Trainers License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with industry-standard computer applications
  • Effective analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
