Job Description

Overview

The Athletic Trainer at Lee Health will work closely with the Lee County School District, providing athletic training services to local student-athletes across various sports. This role emphasizes athlete safety, wellness, and performance, and requires collaboration with a team that includes physicians, coaches, and rehabilitation specialists.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school Activities/Athletic Directors to develop injury prevention and treatment programs
  • Establish schedules for first responders to ensure athletic event coverage
  • Coordinate sports physicals for student-athletes
  • Maintain communication with coaches, administrators, physicians, parents, and students regarding injuries and rehabilitation
  • Conduct athlete education and conditioning programs
  • Ensure equitable coverage across sports
  • Adhere to school board and FHSAA policies related to health and safety
  • Participate in athletic testing and performance initiatives

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletics or a related field
  • Valid Florida Athletic Trainers License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with industry-standard computer applications
  • Effective analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and with diverse groups
