Overview

The Athletic Trainer position at Holy Cross Hospital involves providing clinical support to orthopedic physicians. The role includes evaluating patients, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic studies, and directly assisting with treatment and rehabilitation plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform thorough medical histories and physical examinations on patients
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies under physician direction
  • Provide exercise instruction and educational support tailored to patients' needs
  • Assist physicians with injection procedures and other office tasks
  • Schedule patient surgeries and hospital admissions

Required skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training, Physical Education, or Exercise Science
  • Current CPR/AED certification from American Heart Association
  • Nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC) and Florida state licensure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience coordinating care with other health care providers
