Overview

Holy Cross Hospital is seeking an Athletic Trainer for their Ft. Lauderdale Orthopedics team. This full-time position involves clinical responsibilities under the direction of orthopedic physicians, including patient evaluations, educational support, and coordination of care services.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform thorough medical histories and physical examinations on patients
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies under physician direction
  • Provide exercise instruction and education to patients regarding treatment and rehabilitation
  • Assist physicians with injection procedures
  • Book and schedule patient surgeries and hospital admissions
  • Handle general office duties and other tasks assigned by physicians

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, Physical Education, or Exercise Science
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Current CPR/AED certification from American Heart Association
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC)
  • Florida state licensure
  • Coordination of patient and/or athlete care services
